Standard Mode[]
You can save at any time anywhere, autosaves at the start of the day and before entering a combat area.
The PC cannot get infected.
Survival Mode (Iron Man mode)[]
You cannot save when you want. The game saves at the start of the day, saves a backup too, and that's it. There may possibly be a save and quit option.
The PC can get infected.
