Weapons are used during combat in Dead State.
Melee
Melee weapons are able to inflict an array of Status Effects on an enemy. Many weapons include alternate attacks (accessed by right-clicking on the equipped weapon).
Each weapon has a Strength requirement, which determines the effective damage output. With less than the required Strength, damage dealt will be half (50%) that of someone who does meet the requirement. If Strength is greater than the requirement, more damage will be inflicted (+1 damage for every point beyond the requirement).
